Ciao

Ciao is the brand of CMDO, the Compagnia Mercantile D’Oltremare, which was established in Naples, Italy, in 1979 as a result of the persistent hard work of its founder, Mr Lino Cutolo. Several years of training and field experience in the food preservation industries sector in his native area, l’Agro Nocerino-Sarnese, together with the know-how infused in him through the confidence that he acquired from his trainers, led Mr Lino to decide to start his own business and to survey new markets. Already an expert in the processing and sales of tomatoes at a very young age, he focused his attention on foreign markets of Africa and the United States. Ciao Whole and Peeled Tomatoes hail from Naples in Southern Italy, while their San Marzano Plum Tomatoes are from the area of Agro Sarnese-Nocerino south of Naples, but both are known worldwide for their distinctive shape and fresh taste.   Over the years, the Ciao brand has branched out to other vegetables and is now also offering lentils, a variety of beans as well as chickpeas.
